ECONOMY - This issue should be at the forefront in Washington right now. But, we all know how that is going. Bottom line, we need to get government out of the way and let the American spirit free. We can look at history and see this is not rocket science. Basic rule that has worked every time it has been tried, lower the tax burden on workers and all businesses and watch the economy grow and the jobs for that matter. Remove the corporate tax burden and watch over sea’s money flow back into this country and go to work in our economy.
Right now every State in the Union is suffering from low tax revenues as is the Federal government. Why? Simple, you have an effective unemployment rate of over 10% and that equals less tax payers. Democrats answer; punish the people who are still working by taxing more, tax the crap out of small business. This cannot be sustained. The only way to grow the tax revenues is to grow the tax payer base. How? Expand the economy! This brings me to the most researched piece of legislation to ever be proposed in Congress, The Fair Tax. The mere enactment of this plan will send the United States economy into a growth mode the likes that have never been seen. The USA would become the world’s tax haven. Dare I say it; we would even bring back manufacturing jobs. Imagine a business owner that could plan for market growth and job creation instead of planning for the tax consequence of their decisions. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions about the FairTax. I know it is easy to demagogue, but if you learn the plan, you will see it is the best way to throw this economy into over drive. You can also go to www.fairtax.org Basically, we must lower the tax burden across the board, turn loose capital for investment and let the free market do what it does best, and create jobs!
JOB CREATION- It is not the governments duty to create jobs. The government as an entity doesn’t earn money; it seizes money from the people. We need less government involvement, unlock the shackles of the individuals so that the entrepreneurial spirit thrives once again. We need economic policies that reward hard work. Nothing compares to the enduring spirit of Americans. If we ignite the flame of desire within the people and allow them to pursue their dreams, we will prevail as a nation.
TAX POLICY- Tax policies are directly related to job creation. I believe with all my heart that the current tax system needs to be abolished and replaced by the implementation of the Fair Tax. The Fair Tax is the most researched plan in Congress today. It is the only plan that takes power away from the government and gives it back to the people. The Fair Tax plan will eliminate the IRS and all withholdings. This would allow individuals to spend their hard earned paychecks the way that they see fit. And I for one believe that the American people should decide how to spend their money, not a bunch of bureaucrats in Washington.
SPENDING – I am terrified at the rate of spending by our federal government. Money that it does not have. If elected to Congress I pledge to fight for spending cuts, especially for needless programs. All of us common people have to budget, especially when the economy turns south, but the federal government, they just spend and spend and spend.
NATIONAL SECURITY- The government’s primary responsibility is to protect this sovereign land and its people. This also means to control our borders. To do this we must be prepared with the best trained and equipped military and local agencies. Peace through strength should be our motto. ENERGY- As a nation, it would behoove us to seek out and utilize our natural resources. We must drill, expand nuclear power, and develop alternative fuels. I support exploration in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge, after all, it was set aside for this purpose. I support the leasing of oil and natural gas fields in the outer continental shelf and on federally owned lands with oil shale. These things will make us more energy efficient and less reliant on foreign oil. Best of all, jobs would be created, long term private sector jobs. CAP AND TRADE (Environment) – As your Congressman, I would stand in opposition to a national energy tax on American consumers, farmers and business owners. Today, our economy is in a deep struggle. A cap and trade scheme would further strain already tight family budgets and kill jobs. The entrepreneurial spirit should drive innovation, not big government mandates. We don’t need job killing higher energy bills, we need and deserve a comprehensive, job creating energy policy that includes the development of our own natural resources. SECOND AMENDMENT – The 2nd Amendment is a cornerstone of our Republic. The right to bear arms is a constitutionally protected right. This is a fundamental human right that should be protected. I firmly believe in the right to carry and to obtain carry permits. IMMIGRATION – We have always had immigration. In fact, this legal immigration is and has been an incredible source of prosperity for America. Illegal immigration threatens the foundation of this system. There is no doubt that we need to fix our immigration system, and it must begin by securing the border and fixing the visa and entry process. This should not include amnesty.
THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION - When the great minds came together to draft this incredible document one major point at issue was how much power to allow the central government. In other words, the Constitution restricts the powers of the federal government. Let me clarify, it does not limit the power of we the people, it empowers we the people. No finer document has ever been written.
BALANCED BUDGET - I support reigning in federal spending by proposing a balanced budget amendment. We must stop our rate of spending. We are creating debt that future generations will be saddled with.
